NEW YORK (PIX11) -- For a full week, New York plays host to the main session of the United Nations General Assembly, where nearly 150 world leaders gather as they discuss and negotiate world affairs.

Along with that, political and diplomatic star power comes a lot of security, and a byproduct of tight security is tightly packed roadways.

Gridlock has gripped Midtown Manhattan now that so many heads of state, including President Donald Trump, have arrived in the city.

One yellow cab driver had just arrived in Midtown from JFK Airport, from which Pres. Trump had arrived at around 7:00 on Monday evening.

"I can see right now," he said from behind the wheel of his cab, pointing to the crawling traffic around him on Third Avenue, "You can't turn. [It's] very hard, very hard."
