MACON, Ga. — This Saturday, dozens of motorcycle riders and drivers will come together to honor the life and legacy of a deputy killed in the line of duty.
Tyee Browne, a Crisp County deputy and U.S. Army veteran, was shot and killed during a traffic stop in July 2023. He was just 26 years old.
The memorial ride in his name will begin at Harley-Davidson in Macon and end in Warm Springs. It’s organized by the Greek Brothers Riding Club, a group started by Browne’s grandfather, Joseph Mikesell.
“It’s hard for me, because I lost him,” Mikesell said.
He said the ride is not only a way to keep Browne’s memory alive but also a reminder of the danger law enforcement officers faces every day.
