Dog owners are being warned to be careful when walking their beloved pet on Perth’s beaches, with a deadly sea creature washing up.

Several veterinarians have reported owners bringing in their dog after walking it on the beach, with at least two having died.

One owner on a Perth community Facebook page told how they walked their furry best friend at Hillarys dog beach on Sunday and she rolled around in the seaweed as usual.

“She sat down with us on the sand and within 30 minutes of being there she began to act strange, tried to vomit and couldn’t and then refused to walk,” the heartbroken owner wrote.

“My husband carried her all the way home from the beach and we rushed her to the vet, we had been there all of five minutes when her heart stopped and she was no longer with us.
