A Montgomery County family is grieving the sudden, shocking loss of a 16-year-old who was struck and killed as he tried to cross busy University Boulevard in Kensington just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

Montgomery County Police have released few details about the fatal collision, except to say the driver of the Nissan Murano remained on the scene after hitting the 16-year-old. No details about the speed of the vehicle, or any other information about contributing factors to the crash, have been released.
