NEWBERG, Ore. (KPTV) - A family in Newberg is suing a flight school and others after their home was destroyed when a plane crashed into it two years ago.
On Oct. 3, 2023, a four-seat plane flown by an instructor pilot and student pilot took off from Hillsboro Aero Academy.
The plane slammed into the Ferris family’s Newberg home while the parents were outside with two kids and the other two kids were inside.
The kids in the home weren’t hurt, but shaken up, and the house was a total loss.
The student, 20-year-old Barrett Bevacqua, and instructor, Michele Cavallotti died at the scene.
A third passenger was badly hurt but survived.
