In all honesty, the NBA’s All-Star game has been somewhat of a snoozefest in recent years. While the weekend festivities still draw a crowd, most fans enjoy the Saturday festivities rather than the actual game on Sunday. Fans and players, including OKC’s Jalen Williams, have offered different suggestions to fix it, but it’s like their voices aren’t heard.

It’s quite hard to gauge the interest of these established stars in playing a seemingly meaningless game on a random February night. Understandably, they want to take it a bit slow to avoid injuries. These stars want to be remembered by championships, not by winning the often-criticized contest. For the league, they have now brought in another format to try to entice the players to give it their all in 2026.
