The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections were conducted peacefully on Monday across the five districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), recording an impressive voter turnout of 78.42%, according to figures released by the Assam State Election Commission.
Polling took place to elect 40 members to the BTC, which governs the BTR,comprising Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, Udalguri, Baksa, and Chirang districts. A total of 26,69,396 voters were eligible to cast their votes.
