MEDINA, Ohio – Blake Avenue is slated to receive some much-needed improvements in the future as the city’s finance committee approved a motion to go out to bid on the reconstruction of the street.

“Blake is in pretty terrible shape,” City Engineer Patrick Patton said. “Just like Prospect Street and South Harmony, it is narrower than our typical streets.”

Patton said the width of Blake is inconsistent with the narrowest portions having a width of 18 feet and the widest portions measuring 22 feet. He recommended widening to a 21-foot roadway while making certain portions wider to allow for public parking on the street.
