The age of Trump, today’s self-declared victim class maintain, is just so hard on all of us. Celebrities like Mark Ruffalo tweet about the “trauma’” of living in the age of Trump, while The New York Times’ Michelle Goldberg (among others) routinely trumpets the emotional weight of the Trump presidency.

In fact, the age of Trump is mainly hard on Trump and his followers, as the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, the two attempted assassinations of Trump, and the vilification of conservatives on campuses and in the media demonstrate.

But conservatives, at least those not named Trump, do not claim victimhood.

A higher calling

They instead answer to a higher calling: To defend through open debate our country’s foundational principles against assaults from the left.
