LOGAN – The official opening of the Theatre Arts Season at Utah State University is slated for Friday, Sept. 26, when the USU thespians will debut Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really by playwright Kate Hamill.
This will be the second time that the university performers have explored the works of Ms. Hamill, having previously performed her Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson in the fall of 2024.
As an actress and playwright, Ms. Hamill has practically made a career out of adapting classic works by authors like Jane Austin, William Thackeray and others into female-centered stage productions.
The running gag in Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson was that the famous sleuth and his (her?) sidekick were female detectives solving baffling crimes in modern day London.
