A recent letter from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Wipro founder Azim Premji has brought a unique proposal to tackle Bengaluru’s perennial traffic problem, especially on the Outer Ring Road. In the letter dated September 19, 2025, the Chief Minister requested the IT giant to consider opening its campus to limited vehicular traffic during peak hours to help alleviate the severe congestion on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), particularly at the Iblur Junction.
The letter highlights that this collaborative approach is a potential solution to traffic mess in the area. “Preliminary assessments by traffic and urban mobility experts indicate that such a measure could reduce congestion on adjoining stretches of the ORR by nearly 30 per cent, particularly during peak office hours," the letter
