LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Mason County Sheriff's Office said late Monday night that escaped inmate Jerry Lee Cooper, 48, is in custody after fleeing an Ohio detention center last week.
Cooper escaped the Brown County Detention Center in Georgetown, Ohio, on Sept. 15. He was being held while he awaited trial for his alleged role in a murder-for-hire.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office said Cooper had remained in Mason County, where they believed him to be. That was until Monday, when Marlana and William Strausbaugh picked him up and took him to Louisville.
Cooper was then found by the FBI, which had been offering a $10,000 reward to apprehend him.
The Strausbaughs have been arrested and charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension, as well as escape. The sheriff's office said they
