SOPHIA, W.Va – A southern West Virginia power company is disputing the claims that led to a call for investigation by the Public Service Commission.

Black Diamond Power filed its response to the PSC Monday, attempting to refute a number of claims of questionable practices by the company. The letter recognized an increase of informal complaints, the majority of which the commission says are related to irregular or unusual billing practices, but states that a review turned up nothing of the like while noting that only five formal complaints about billing have been filed against Black Diamond since 2015.
