ABC has reinstated "Jimmy Kimmel Live," which it had suspended indefinitely following the host's comments about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

ABC said the late-night show and how are reinstated and will return Tuesday night, Sept. 23.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country ,” Disney said in a Monday, Sept. 22, statement. “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

The reversal follows backlash in Hollywood and among the public that led to a growing boycott campaign against Disney .
