Emaciated puppy found in Pa. fights for his life at vet hospital

A 5-month-old puppy is fighting for his life after he was found emaciated and starved, according to Outcast Rescue.

Garcia was found in Philadelphia severely underweight, dehydrated and suffering from eye infections, an eye ulceration and a wet cough on Wednesday, the Pennsylvania-based rescue organization said.

He was transferred to Crown Veterinary Specialists in Hunterdon County where he has received emergency treatments, including at least two blood transfusions, according to a Facebook post on Thursday from the rescue.

In an update on Saturday, Crown Veterinary Specialists said Garcia had been eating and was strong enough to lift his head after the transfusion.
