DAVIESS CO. – Abel Dubon-Castillo has been sentenced to 150 years in prison after a Daviess County jury found him guilty of murder, attempted murder, burglary, and intimidation. The verdict came after a seven-day trial.

The charges stemmed from a shooting on February 4, 2024, at a home on McCormick Avenue in Washington, Indiana. The incident resulted in the death of Aracely Torres, 58, and injuries to two others, Concepcion Rodriguez-Martinez, 57, and Yarely Santiago-Torres, 35.

On Monday, September 22, Judge Dan Murrie handed down the sentence. Daviess County Prosecuting Attorney Abby Brown praised the Washington Police Department for its comprehensive investigation, which also involved the Indiana State Police and the Knox County High-Tech Crime Unit.
