Shillong, Sept 23: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has declined to provide assurance to protesting adhoc schoolteachers, stating that the government will thoroughly examine and review various suggestions regarding the proposal to streamline school categories in the state before reaching a decision.

This was informed by the vice president of the Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) S Jungai after a meeting held with the education minister here today.

Rymbui had invited the leaders of the federation for talks after they began their indefinite sit-in-demonstration on Monday demanding immediate upgradation of the adhoc schools to deficit system.
