The Trump administration on Tuesday (September 23) unveiled a proposal to reform the H-1B visa selection process, aiming to favour higher-paid, higher-skilled applicants. The plan was detailed in a notice published in the Federal Register.

The proposal comes shortly after a White House announcement on Friday introducing a $100,000 fee for employers seeking H-1B visas, a move designed to further limit lower-wage foreign labor in the US.
