The City of Belleville says more than 650 trees were planted over the weekend through two events at Cascade Park. The first planting event was held Friday in partnership with the Quinte Field Naturalists, Quinte Conservation, Tree Canada and the LCBO. Students from Parkdale Public School also joined in. The City says some larger trees were also planted in the park earlier in the week. Saturday, TD staff, community volunteers and City staff teamed up to plant 315 more trees as part of TD Tree Days. The annual planting event in partnership with the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation has resulted in thousands of trees being planted in city parks over the last several years.
