A 33-year-old Massachusetts woman has been found guilty of killing her ex-girlfriend, whose body was found in a vehicle that was involved in a crash in southeastern Minnesota.

Margot Lewis, of Marlborough, Mass., was convicted Monday by a Hennepin County jury of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Liara Tsai, 35, of Minneapolis.

The crash happened the morning of June 22, 2024 on I-90 in Eyota, just east of Rochester.

When Olmsted County deputies arrived to the scene, they found Lewis, the driver, sitting in a lawn chair in the median, while Tsai's body was discovered in the back seat of her own vehicle, wrapped in bedding, a mattress, and a tarp.

According to court documents, it was immediately clear to deputies that Tsai did not die of injuries sustained in the crash,
