It's been nearly 10 years since autonomous vehicle operator Waymo popped up in metro Phoenix. As the company has added to its fleet, the robot cars have expanded their reach and grown their fame.

Now, robotic shuttle service is expanding into public transit.

Chandler was the first city nationwide to integrate the autonomous vehicles into its transit system, according to the city and transit technology company, Via. Via helps coordinate rides for Chandler's cheap microtransit service, Chandler Flex.
