Geoffrey the Giraffe plans a comeback to the Des Moines metro.

Seven years after Toys "R" Us closed all of its stores and liquidated its assets amid a bankruptcy case, the new and reformed store announced Tuesday, Sept. 23 that it will open stores in seven shopping centers across the country, including Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines. It also plans to open 20 seasons stores for the holiday shopping season.

"As we head into the most magical time of the year, Toys R Us is reaching more kids and families that ever before," Kimberly Miller, Toys "R" Us chief marketing officer, said in a news release.

An opening date or specific location at Jordan Creek Town Center was not announced. A spokesperson for the mall declined to comment, citing negotiations with the company.
