Lenovo Global Technology U.S. Inc. — as expected — confirmed Tuesday plans to expand its operations in Whitsett with a pledge to create 420 jobs and make $77 million capital investment.
Company plans to begin production in a 520,583-square-foot facility at 6550 Judge Adams Road in Rock Creek Industrial Park.
The 420 new full-time jobs would nearly double Lenovo’s current workforce of about 500 at 6540 Franz Warner Parkway, which opened in 2007. Lenovo's overall workforce in North Carolina would expand to more than 3,400.
Marvin Price, with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, said on Sept. 18 that Lenovo was considering sites in Dallas, Canton, Ohio, and Memphis, Tennessee.
