US President Donald Trump faced two unexpected disruptions during his visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday . An escalator at the building stopped abruptly as he and First Lady Melania Trump stepped onto it, and later, during his speech to the General Assembly, his teleprompter malfunctioned.

Trump and Melania arrived hand in hand at the UN building ahead of his much-anticipated address. Dressed in a white pantsuit, the first lady walked alongside the president as photographers called out for pictures. Trump responded with a smile and a brief "thank you" before they stepped onto the escalator.
