LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports a sergeant was traveling north on Pine Lake Avenue near Waverly Road around 11:04 p.m., Monday, when a vehicle traveling south was determined to be going 60 mph in a 35-mph zone.

The sergeant then made a U-turn with emergency siren and lights activates.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle did not slow down at this point.

The vehicle then drove left of center near the intersection at Newporte Boulevard before crashing into an impact attenuator and going airborne, before rolling over and coming to stop on its roof in a northbound lane.
