A band of strong thunderstorms is moving through lower Michigan on, Tuesday, Sept. 23.

" Scattered thunderstorms are expected today (Sept. 23) into tonight," said the National Weather Service. "Severe weather is not anticipated. Locally heavy rain and lightning will be the main threats."

The storms stretch from the southwest border to the top of Michigan's thumb headed east.
