At least four people were injured after six coaches of the Jaffar Express derailed in Dasht tehsil in Balochistan’s Mastung district following an explosion on the railway track, according to local media reports. The train was traveling from Peshawar to Quetta when the blast struck.
Local media reported that one carriage overturned while two others went off the track. Those injured were rushed to nearby hospitals after rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched from Quetta.
“Three people were injured in the blast and have been shifted to the Civil Hospital Trauma Centre, while an injured child has been taken to Combined Military Hospital," Balochistan Health Department and Quetta Civil Hospital spokesperson Dr Waseem Baig told news outlet DAWN .
