ORCHARD PARK - Sean McDermott is by no means the first NFL coach to understand the importance of winning the turnover battle.

Coaches have been reciting that axiom back to the days when the league was formed in the showroom of an automobile dealership in Canton, Ohio and being called the American Professional Football Association.

Historically, teams that have more takeaways than giveaways win about 70% of the time, but the Buffalo Bills have far exceeded that number lately. They have now gone 25 consecutive games counting the postseason either winning, or being even, in turnover margin which is believed to be an NFL record. In those games, they are 16-4 when they win the turnover battle and 3-2 when it’s even.
