LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Despite the recent rain on Monday, 162 hunters across Arkansas still managed to bring home an alligator during the first weekend of the 2025 hunting season.
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) confirmed that all public and private alligator zones will stay open during the second and final weekend. This period begins 30 minutes after sunset on Sept. 26 and ends 30 minutes before sunrise Sept. 29.
With there being 162 alligators already checked so far, AGFC wants hunters to remain cognizant of the 42 tags that remain.
“All alligator hunters on private land and those who drew a Millwood Lake permit need to be sure and call the hotline (833-345-0398) or check [here] before they go on their hunt each night to make sure the quota hasn’t been filled,” AGFC Herpe
