ABC has reinstated "Jimmy Kimmel Live," which it had suspended indefinitely following the host's comments about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, but not all Michigan ABC stations will air the show.
ABC said the late-night show and and host are reinstated and will return Tuesday night, Sept. 23, but Sinclair and Nexstar Media Group both said their stations will continue to pre-empt the comedian's show.
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country ,” Disney said in a Monday, Sept. 22, statement. “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.
