U.S. News & World Report has announced its Best Colleges 2026 list.

In all, the college prep list ranked seven Mississippi universities as some of the best in the nation. Another three were some of the top liberal arts colleges in the U.S., and another five ranked among the best schools in the South.

The majority of rankings were ties, so more than one college in the country shares that rank.
