Hideo Kojima is continuing to expand the world of his hit video game series Death Stranding across various media. The acclaimed video game director released the first Death Stranding game in 2019, and its sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the beach, in June 2025. While the visionary has stated that he doesn't have plans to direct a third game (but would rather hand off a third installment to another creator), that hasn't stopped Kojima from helping to produce two other film projects. While A24's Death Stranding movie is in the early stages of pre-production, one other project that is moving along smoothly is an animated film by Hiroshi Miyamoto.
