Among the myriad vaccination suggestions President Donald Trump presented Monday was that babies should no longer be given the vaccine to prevent hepatitis B. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently recommends the vaccine be given to all infants at birth, with a second dose administered at 1 to 2 months and a third dose between 6 and 15 months.

“Hepatitis B is sexually transmitted. There’s no reason to give a baby that’s almost just born (the) hepatitis B (vaccine),” Trump said during a news conference, where he also said pregnant women should not take Tylenol and that babies should receive vaccinations over a period of four or five doctor visits. “I would say wait till the baby is 12 years old and formed and take (the) hepatitis B (vaccine).”
