Randall Hopley, who has previously been convicted of abducting a boy from his Sparwood home, will be released from custody and living in Vancouver.

Vancouver police issued the warning Monday (Sept. 22) about 60-year-old Hopley, who was released into the community on a recalculated statutory release date after he breached his previous conditions for a statutory release.

Hopley has been convicted of sexual assault and abduction of a person under the age of 14.

Police said there are "compelling reasons" to warn the public that Hopley poses a high risk to the public and a high risk to breach his conditions.
