HAMPTON, Iowa – An attempted murder case in Franklin County has ended with a prison sentence.

Isidoro Moreno Montalvo, 22 of Hampton, was charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, and possession of dangerous weapons while under the influence.

The Hampton Police Department says Moreno Montalvo attacked another man a little before midnight on May 24. The attack happened in the Hampton Mobile Home Park in the 700 block of 8 th Street SW. Court documents state the male victim had two deep stab wounds, one under his left armpit and the other to the top on his left shoulder.

Moreno Montalvo pleaded guilty to willful injury resulting in bodily injury and carrying weapons while intoxicated.

He has now been sentenced to up to five years i
