Active shooter at Augusta Mall, sheriff’s office confirms

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the presence of an active shooter at the Augusta Mall on Tuesday.

The Richmond County Marshal’s Office also said a shooting has occurred at the Augusta Mall, according to a Facebook post.

It reads:

“Please be advised, Shooting at the Augusta Mall. Richmond County Sheriff’s Office – Georgia & Marshal’s Office on the scene. Please stay clear of the area. If you have any information contact the Sheriff’s office at 706-821-1080.”

Deputies are blocking off the entrances to the mall.
