FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Nurses with Kaiser Permanente hit the picket lines in Fresno on Tuesday, alleging that Kaiser is putting profits and politics before patients.
The nurses are protesting layoffs, the use of artificial intelligence, and alleged wage theft. The demonstration in Fresno is part of a larger state-wide strike.
The nurses are represented by the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United, which represent 25,000 nurses who work for Kaiser Permanente.
In a statement, Kaiser Permanente says the California Nurses Association is using the day of action to gain visibility.
