The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating threats made against a Triumph Academy student.

On Monday evening, Sept. 22, a student received threatening text messages, including photographs of firearms, from an unknown number. The messages indicated potential violence against the school. The student reported the messages to Triumph Academy staff on Tuesday morning, Sept. 23.

Deputies and detectives launched an investigation into the origins of the messages. Following the investigation, the threat was not deemed credible. The subject responsible for the messages has been identified and the case will be forwarded to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office for potential charges, the sheriff's office said in a statement.
