More than 6,500 Entergy customers on the West Bank in Jefferson Parish were left without power Tuesday afternoon.
Those impacted by the outage were largely concentrated in the Woodmere and Estelle areas in Jefferson Parish, according to Entergy's outage map. Two separate outages were to blame, including one that was reported just after noon and another that was reported at around 2:30 p.m.
Restoration was expected between 3:30 and 4 p.m., according to Entergy's outage map.
Entergy Louisiana spokesperson Brandon Scardigli said the outages were sparked by something that happened at a nearby substation, but he didn't say what. That much is still under investigation, he said.
"Crews are on the scene now working to make repairs as quickly and safely as possible," Scardigli said at 3:15 p.m.
