The City of Edmonton’s annual yard waste collection will start shortly.

The City announced Tuesday that households will be assigned two yard waste collection days between September 29 and November 24.

On these days, residents will be asked to put out yard waste, such as leaves, in see-through plastic bags or double-ply paper bags.

Despite this, the City says elm wood can no longer be mixed with yard waste or placed in carts.

This comes as Dutch elm disease was discovered in Edmonton last year, and the city is looking at limiting its spread.
