BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A University of Vermont graduate selected for NASA’s newest astronaut class will help lead the future of space medicine.

On top of getting her medical degree at UVM in 2017, Dr. Imelda Muller is a former lieutenant in the U.S. Navy who served as an undersea medical officer.

Now, she’s helping to chart the course for space medicine as she begins the two-year training process to become an astronaut.
