LOUISIANA. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Department of Veterans Affairs announced $12 million in grants to three Louisiana organizations to support Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Grant recipients include Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, Inc. ($7.5 million), Hope Center, Inc. ($3.4 million), and Start Corporation ($1.8 million). Funding will provide housing, counseling, health care, childcare, legal aid, transportation, and financial planning services through fiscal year 2026.

“These grants will help bring crucial support to thousands of Veterans in need across the nation,” said interim director of Veterans Integrated Service Network 16, Fernando Rivera, in a news release.
