Brighton, N.Y. — A large manhunt that started 10 days ago continues in the Adirondacks for a man wanted in connection with a murder in the Capital District.

Troopers and others are using dogs and drones to search heavily wooded terrain in Franklin County. They’ve warned people not to approach the man because he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Troopers are searching for Anthony G. Bechand, 53, after police located the car he was driving Sept. 14 on Route 86 in Franklin County, according to a news release from State Police spokesperson Trooper Brandi Ashley.

Police in Cohoes had responded earlier that day to Earl Lynn Court, where they found Amanda Rodriguez, 41, of Cohoes, dead inside a residence. Troopers said Bechand fled the scene and is wanted for her murder.
