Cops rescued dozens of neglected animals from a rancid upstate New York home, including exotic critters like peacocks, wallabies, tarantulas and even an Australian bearded dragon lizard.
Linda Hickey, 62, was hit with animal neglect charges after the grisly discovery in the town of Warwick — where authorities found more than 100 other animals in putrid conditions last year, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Tuesday.
“This case highlights the importance of community partnerships in combating animal neglect,” Sheriff Paul Arteta said in a statement. “The dedication of the Warwick Valley Humane Society and Animal Nation allowed us to act swiftly and humanely, giving these animals a chance at recovery.” 3
