HOLLAND, Mich. — Last week, Debra Behrmann got a check for $1,100 from the contractor she hired and paid to build a concrete porch at a house in Holland. She cashed it the same day.

The payment brings an end to a months-long struggle to get the concrete porch finished or her money back.

"I didn't think he would be calling me without your input," said Behrmann. "And you verified that that's what happened."

The 13 Help Team spoke with Behrmann in August about her frustrations with the project and how she hadn’t heard from the contractor she had hired.

Behrmann says she needed a new porch for the house that once belonged to her mother, and last year, she paid them for the project.

This contract shows the almost $17,000 she paid.
