The Minnesota Vikings have become a new landing spot for former San Francisco 49ers running backs.

Former 49ers undrafted free agent RB Jordan Mason was traded there this offseason, and now undrafted rookie Corey Kiner is joining the Vikings after spending the offseason with San Francisco. Kiner suffered an ankle injury in the 49ers’ second preseason game and was placed on IR before getting waived with an injury designation.

It’s a little surprising the 49ers didn’t try to keep Kiner around. He was impressive in his limited preseason action and his success came while fellow rookie Jordan James, a fifth-round pick, missed time with a broken finger.
