Crews were battling a two-alarm house fire Tuesday afternoon in San Jose, according to the fire department.
The fire was reported at about 2:50 p.m. at a single-family residence in the 2400 block of Peachtree Lane, with nearby structures threatened, fire officials said.
Firefighters knocked down the flames in the main building, but a utility pole also was burning with downed power lines, officials said.
Officials asked the public to avoid the area.
