BATON ROUGE — The fifth LSU women’s basketball team of the Kim Mulkey era opened preseason practice Tuesday, Sept. 23 inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Throngs of faithful LSU fans and several high schoolers from the area greeted the Tigers as they took the floor for their first practice of the 2025-25 season.

Stars Flau’jae Johnson and Mi kaylah Williams headline the small group of starters back from LSU’s Elite Eight team last season. But LSU made a splash in the offseason with the addition of the most sought-after transfer in guard MiLaysia Fulwiley as well as forward Kate Koval from Notre Dame.
