Former Manchester United defender Alvaro Carreras has been earning plaudits from his new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso as his value continues to sky rocket.
Carreras was on the books at Old Trafford from 2020 until 2024 after being picked up by United's academy from Real Madrid. However, the Spaniard was not given much of a chance to impress in the first-team.
The left-back never made a senior appearance for the Reds and was loaned to Preston North End and Granada before an eventual spell at Benfica revitalised his career. After enjoying half a season in Portugal, Carreras signed permanently with them in the summer of 2024.
His only full season in Portugal proved to be a hit and Real chose to strike while the iron was hot and snapped the full-back up. Now back in
