BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Tuesday, the Biloxi City Council signed off on starting repairs to the Lighthouse Pier.
The city says it’s transferring just under $1.1 million from the Port and Pier repairs fund to this project.
The Lighthouse Pier was destroyed in Hurricane Zeta back in 2021.
Congressman Mike Ezell’s office says the pier is still on a list of FEMA projects that haven’t been approved. Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich says the project can’t start until the city secures over $4 million of funding.
Residents say they’re ready to see the pier get fixed.
